Heart of the Hills Vacation Homes, LLC  has been in business since 1995. The owners, Kim and Marcia Benning, were one of a handful of pioneers in the vacation home rental business and have been instrumental in shaping the vacation rental industry here in the Black Hills.  After 30 years of managing properties for multiple individual owners, they have reduced their offerings to 2 cottages that they personally own.  Both are located in Hill City, just off the Old Hill City Road.   Both rentals have had recent upgrades and some remodeling and have a stellar history of happy guests.  Kim and Marcia pride themselves in providing lodging that is comfortable, clean, and easily accessible, making each property truly your ‘home away from home’ while on vacation.  

 

Both cottages are conveniently and centrally located in the Black Hills, just minutes from all the major attractions including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mountain, Bear Country USA, Reptile Gardens, and Custer State Park. Are fishing and boating your thing? Both are also a short drive to beautiful Lake Pactola, Lake Sylvan, Sheridan Lake, and Legion and Stockade Lakes. If hiking is your thing, our cottages are less than 10 miles from Black Elk Peak and Sunday Gulch trailheads!  For the ATV enthusiasts, the rentals have easy access to 650 miles of approved trails.  Both have room for parking trailers. Our cottages are family friendly and the perfect respite after a long day of touring.
